About
The SLP Shelf started the way most therapy materials do. Something was needed and nothing on the market quite fit.
Who makes this
Abby is a practicing speech-language pathologist. She earned her master's at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama, and went straight into skilled nursing out of grad school, which meant working through COVID in the setting that got hit hardest by it.
After her first daughter was born she moved into schools, working remotely with SLP Odyssey on Wisconsin caseloads.
That last part shaped everything here more than it sounds like it would. Serving a district from several states away means a material has to work on whatever device the school hands a kid, through whatever the firewall allows, with no printer in the room and no cart of laminated cards. Most of what is on this shelf started as something she built for exactly that.
Connor handles the software and the business side: the app, the store, the parts that are not therapy.
We are based in Birmingham, Alabama.
What we are trying to do
- Make materials that hold up clinically. Every page has to earn its place in a real session.
- Price them like we remember being a CF.
- Be straight about what is in a product before you buy it. Every listing tells you what is actually inside, and where the catalogue is still thin, we say so.
If something is not right
Email abby@theslpshelf.com. If a file will not open, is missing pages, or is not what the listing described, we will fix it or refund it. We would rather do that than have you quietly decide we are not worth buying from again.
